This historic site is an important place of religious belief for Kashmiri Muslims and has been a spiritual center for over 700 years. The shrine is dedicated to Mir Sayyid Ali Hamdani, a famous Sufi saint who brought Islam to the Kashmir valley.
The next stop on Srinagar Heritage Tour is Chhati Padshahi Gurudwara
Chatti Padshahi Gurudwara is probably the largest Sikh gurdwara in the entire Kashmir valley. The gurudwara is dedicated to Guru Hargobind, the sixth Sikh guru, who is believed to have visited the site during his travels.

It is believed that the hill on which the fort stands was the residence of the legendary sage Kashyapa, and the fort was built on his ruins.
